Our series of short practical diamond grading and coloured stones courses, increase attendees gem knowledge to a level where they are confident in buying and selling diamonds and other precious stones.

We offer our various gem courses designed for different specific levels of attendee knowledge and experience (whether public or UK jewellery industry). We host our courses in London and also teach other training courses organised by leading UK gem and jewellery educational organisations, including the National Association of Goldsmiths and the National Pawnbrokers’ Association.

Q1.     “Do I Have To Have Prior Gem Knowledge?”

One of the major attractions of our short gem courses and seminars is that no prior gem experience or knowledge is necessary to obtain maximum benefit.

Participation numbers per course are restricted in order you gain the full benefit of Eric’s teaching and experience.

Participants are mostly those new to or wishing to enter the gem and jewellery trade and those who have a passion for gems as an interest. Those with any amount of trade experience wishing to ‘brush-up’ their gem awareness will also find our courses of immediate advantage.

Q2.    “How Do I Book A Place?”

Read the information on each course then book and pay for our courses on our Booking page.

Q3.    “How Much Do Your Courses Cost?”

Our gem courses are short in duration, one, two or three days, so are appreciably less expensive than longer courses offered by other UK gemmological course providers.

For current course fees please see the Booking page.

Q4.    “When And Where Are Your Courses Held?”

Our short practical gem courses are offered regularly in the Hatton Garden, London area. A number of courses are held in the City of London and in cities and towns throughout the UK

Q5.    “How Do I Benefit From Attending One Of Your Courses?”

By attending our short courses or seminars you will gain the essential gem facts. You will use this knowledge and gem skills to add to your personal or professional development plans. Many attendees find the key facts they gain helps them to buy and sell gems and jewellery effectively. If you are in the gem and jewellery industry you will be better placed to answer customers’ enquiries on the quality and beauty of precious stones.

You will not only learn the basics of gem rarity, quality and beauty but also understand the jargon words employed by the gem and jewellery industry.

See here for past attendees comments on our courses.

Q6.    “What Other Courses Can I Take After Attending Yours?”

As part of your professional career and/or personal development, you may wish to take other gem courses with us. If you wish to spend a longer time (and more expense) studying gemmology and/or jewellery design/making, we are happy to provide advice on suitable UK and overseas educational providers.
